Organizational Coaching Readiness & Transfer Checklist

If your organization is considering coaching for a leader, answer these 12 questions first. At the end, you will see a readiness index from 0 to 100, the conditions that look stronger, and the areas that may need attention. This is a practical diagnostic, not a validated test that predicts success.

Until you choose to send the contact form shown with your result, your answers stay only in this browser session. If you send that form, Mehdi receives your contact details, overall score and the main areas needing attention—not your answer to every question.

01 · Goal clarityCan the organization and the coachee describe the development goal in concrete terms?
02 · Observable changeCan you name the behaviours or work outcomes that should look different?
03 · Coachee ownershipDoes the coachee have a real voice in shaping the goal?
04 · Decision rightsDoes the leader have enough authority to practise the behaviour being requested?
05 · Manager supportWill the direct manager reinforce the change rather than quietly reverse it?
06 · Practice opportunityWill real work create repeated opportunities to practise the new behaviour?
07 · FeedbackIs there a credible way to receive specific feedback on observable behaviour?
08 · Sponsor alignmentAre sponsor, manager, coach and coachee aligned on purpose and boundaries?
09 · ConfidentialityIs it clear what can and cannot be shared from the coaching engagement?
10 · System fitHave you checked whether process, incentives or culture contradict the coaching goal?
11 · Midpoint reviewIs there a review point before the end to test transfer into work?
12 · Intervention fitHave feedback, role clarity or performance-management needs been addressed before using coaching?

Readiness index

— / 100

0–100 is a readiness index, not a percentage probability that coaching will succeed.

0 / 12

Why these questions?

The checklist combines organizational-coaching context research, learning-transfer evidence, feedback research and professional ethics. The evidence supports the relevance of these conditions, but the 0–100 index, equal item weighting and interpretation bands have not yet been empirically validated against later coaching-transfer outcomes. Treat the result as a structured conversation starter, not as a probability of coaching success.

Validation study v1.0 is now open. Until longitudinal results are available, the interpretation bands remain provisional.
